Mellow Mushroom Offers Menu of Gluten-Free Options

May is Celiac Awareness Month, and Mellow Mushroom, South Miami’s fun and eclectic pizzeria, allows diners to indulge in a plentiful menu of gluten-free options. Mellow Mushroom’s special gluten-free menu allows diners from all walks of life to enjoy classic Mellow pizzas that are gluten-free and do not skip on taste or quality. Options include mouthwatering pizzas like Gourmet White (olive oil, garlic base with sundried tomatoes, provolone, mozzarella, feta, tomatoes, onions), Mighty Meaty (red sauce base, mozzarella, pepperoni, Italian sausage, ground beef, ham, Applewood smoked bacon) and Kosmic Karma (red sauce base, mozzarella, sundried tomatoes, spinach, feta, fresh tomatoes, pesto swirl) all made with gluten-free and vegan crust baked with ancient grains versus traditional wheat flour.


In keeping with the highest gluten-free standards, Mellow Mushrooms cooks have been trained on the importance of preventing cross contamination. The kitchen staff always uses fresh gloves and only uses gluten-free dedicated cooking utensils as well as ingredients. Mellow Mushroom uses Smart Flour, a special brand of gluten-free flour using the three ancient grains sorghum, amaranth and teff to bring gluten-free diners a delicious crust that doesn’t sacrifice crunch or taste.


What goes better with pizza than an ice cold beer? A gluten-free craft beer, and Mellow Mushroom has multiple varieties on draught including Angry Orchard. More specials are expected to be announced as the month goes on.
