Estepa (Seville), March 16, 2015. Today the awards for high quality extra virgin olive oil were presented by Expoliva, with the first place prize in the intense green fruit category being given to the cooperative La Inmaculada Concepción (La Roda de Andalucía, Sevilla) of Oleoestepa.
The award winning extra-virgin olive oil is made with the varietal hojiblanca and which was early harvested, giving a very fresh aroma of intense green olive. Its aroma is reminiscent of freshly cut grass, green olive leaf with hints of apple and artichoke. The oil is very fresh and delicate with elegant bitterness and pungency.
The Expoliva trade fair is the most important oil olive event within Spain, and is recognized as one of the most important international contests for Extra Virgin olive oils. This award comes on the heels of the title Oleoestepa was granted recently as ¨The best organic extra virgin olive oil in the world¨ at the BIOFACH 2015 Fair, and recognition by the International Olive Oil Council of more than 130,000 liters of high quality extra virgin olive oil with 3 awards given in 3 separate categories, confirming Oleoestepa´s global leadership as the best producer of high quality extra virgin olive oil.
All of Oleoestepa´s Olive Oils are produced under the strictest and most demanding of all Protected Designation of Origins in Spain, the D.O.P. Estepa in the province of Seville.
The second degree cooperative Oleoestepa is a high quality extra virgin olive oil producer that has been operating for 28 years. It has 17 associated mills in the provinces of Seville and Cordoba, which produce and commercialize the brands such as the gourmet Estepa Virgen, the 100% Organic Egregio, single varietals such as Oleoestepa Arbequina and Oleoestepa Hojiblanca, and a coupage of the two called Oleoestepa Selection.
Oleoestepa has a strong presence throughout Spain and exports to nearly all countries within the European Union (United Kingdom, Italy, Belgium, Germany …), as well as Russia, China, Japan, Mexico, Canada and the US, among others.
